For those who are born poor, they are used as leverages for financial escape. Hence the journey of entrepreneurship is most rewarding and meaningful to them from the monetary and psychological perspectives. As they don’t only form strong personality traits but also reap high returns through the ventures they pursue.
What’s interesting is that all the literature and case study that I have read so far had been mostly been about male entrepreneurs for instance examples of common successful entrepreneurs that are referred are Michael Dell or Steve Jobs. However I did come across the story of one female entrepreneur, who I could relate the role of being a woman and the journey to entrepreneurship with.
Such an example is of Mary Kay, the founder of Mary Kay cosmetics, author of her books: You can have it all, Mary Kay and Mary Kay on People Management. Although Mary’s story is at a different time period, Mary born in 1951- 2001; her life history sets the same parameters as those in the third world country.
Since the search of a true entrepreneur has either been measured through his traits or through his venture, therefore the pattern of this essay is designed in two parts the personal history and the professional history. Allowing the two different perspectives will help us to comprehend Mary as a complete entrepreneur, as these two perspectives though different compliment each other.
