According to our leadership lecture on 28th October 2008, held by: Ethel Brundin on Contemporary Approaches
She confirms the same fact highlighted by Gabriel Sundqvist, founder and CEO of Pronto that the path of leadership is a lonely one and that many of those who haven’t been able to come up with their own or their colleague’s expectations have given up and have suicide.
Scary thought...about taking your own life, it makes you think is the leadership game even worth it?
However that is for each one to decide on their own, leader as defined by the teacher has to influence his subordinate so that they follow him.
Question how many leaders have we come across who really influence us and help us to trust them with the decisions they make for us? The types of leaders categorised according to the lecture were: authoritarian, democratic and laissez faire.
It’s important to be motivated, not only because it’s important to me personally but it has been identified in lectures, seminars, and articles etc. Being motivated helps you to cover that extra mile; individually as entrepreneurs and collectively as a corporate culture.
I found great motivation, warmth and passion in most of our teachers, who though don’t need my high recommendations but I really like this opportunity to say that they do a great job being teachers and leaders.
Of course, for me I also want to achieve that same feeling of well being that they have achieved, maybe not as successful as them but I know in trying to do so I will achieve a little: step by step.
Among all the teachers, I think one person has inspired not only me but most of my colleagues is:
Sheridan Tatsuno
For those who don’t know Sheridan, they are missing the opportunity to learn a lot. He can make you believe in things you have never thought of, make you envision your future, give you the reason why you should do so and the best part is you remember all he says.
He keeps all his messages simple and at the same time makes it so interesting and fun. How? Well that’s Sheridan, not only passionate and committed to what he believes in but just know how to go about it. As students we only hope we can train ourselves that way.
